Common questions about Tabmori, fixes for common problems, and where to send feedback.

General

Where can I download Tabmori?

There is no public build yet. Builds will be published only through the public releases repository; see Install.

Does Tabmori need an account or an internet connection?

No. Tabmori has no account and makes no network requests. Websites you open from it, including your search engine, still need a connection.

Do my notes and themes sync to my other computers?

No. Everything stays in the current Chrome profile. To move your data, export a backup on one computer and restore it on the other; see Settings and data.

Can I use more than one note?

Yes. Notes are the only widget you can add more than once. The clock, search, and quick links are one each.

Permissions

Why does Chrome say Tabmori can "read and change" my bookmarks or history?

That is Chrome's fixed wording for the permission. Tabmori only reads bookmarks and history on this computer and never changes or uploads them. The words are shown before Chrome's prompt; see Sidebars.

Site icons need the optional site-icons permission. Turn on Site icons in Settings › Data sources and permissions. Icons come from Chrome's local icon cache, not from the network.

Local search shows "Not enabled" for history, bookmarks, or downloads.

That source is off. Turn it on from its sidebar or from Settings › Data sources and permissions.

Page and layout

The page shows "Small window: content view is active".

The window is too small for the compact layout. Make the window larger, or reset the page zoom, and the grid comes back. See Layouts and the content view.

My layout looks different in a smaller window.

Large and smaller windows use separate layouts. Arrange the compact layout on its own while the window is in compact size.

A dropped picture was refused.

Wallpapers must be PNG, JPEG, or WebP pictures, or MP4 or WebM videos. Pictures can be up to 25 MB and videos up to 100 MB, within the 200 MB total for local media.

Web searches go to the wrong search engine.

Tabmori uses Chrome's default search engine. Change it in Chrome's own settings.

Chrome colours

Why doesn't Tabmori change Chrome's colours itself?

Chrome does not let an extension change its look. Tabmori shows which tile to pick, or generates a theme file for you to load. See Chrome colours.

How do I remove the exact-colour theme?

In Chrome, go to Settings › Appearance and choose Reset to default. You can then delete the theme folder from your Downloads folder.

Saving and data

A note says "Not saved".

The note is over its size limit. Shorten it by the amount the note shows, and it saves again by itself.

The page says "Your data was replaced in another tab."

Another tab restored a backup or reset Tabmori. Click Reload to load the current data.

Tabmori says this computer is out of storage space.

Your unsaved changes are still on the page. Free some disk space, or delete unused media and click Clean up unused pictures in Settings › Data on this computer, then try again.
