Tabmori
An offline Chrome New Tab page with a wallpaper, a few widgets, rich-text notes, and matching Chrome colours.
Tabmori replaces Chrome's New Tab page with one quiet page: a wallpaper, a clock, a search box, quick links, and notes. Everything you put on the page stays in this Chrome profile.
What it does
- One page, a few widgets. A clock, a search box, quick links, and any number of notes. The page keeps one layout for large windows and one for smaller windows, and switches to a content view when the window is too small for either. See Page and widgets.
- Rich-text notes. Headings, lists, task lists, tables, code blocks with Mermaid diagrams, maths, and local images or files. A note can expand to a full page. See Notes.
- Browser data in sidebars. Bookmarks, history, and downloads open in sidebars. Each source stays off until you turn it on. See Sidebars.
- Themes and wallpapers. Eight built-in themes, bundled photos, solid colours and gradients, or your own picture or video. See Appearance.
- Chrome colours. Pick the Chrome colour tile that matches the page, or generate a colour-only Chrome theme from the wallpaper. See Chrome colours.
- Local backup. Export everything to a
.zipfile and restore it later. See Settings and data.
The interface is available in English and Simplified Chinese.
Offline by design
- No account. Nothing to sign in to, and no cloud sync.
- No network requests. The page's content security policy allows no connections, and fonts and bundled wallpapers ship inside the extension. Tabmori runs no background script and injects nothing into other sites.
- Nothing is sent before you submit. Typing in the search box requests no suggestions. A search or a link only leaves the page when you submit it or click it.
- Local storage. Themes, notes, links, and media are stored in the browser's IndexedDB for this Chrome profile.
Websites you open from Tabmori, and Chrome's default search engine, follow their own policies. See the privacy policy.
Status
