Concepts
The ideas shared across every Cordy product — BYOK, the privacy model, and the provider matrix.
Every Cordy product — Gateway, Chrome, Desktop, and Mobile — is built on the same handful of ideas. Read these once and they apply everywhere.
In this section
- Bring your own model (BYOK) — what it means, why it matters, and how keys are stored in each product.
- Privacy model — what data exists, where it lives, and how to erase it.
- Provider matrix — which model providers each product supports, and how the OpenAI-compatible contract ties them together.
The one-paragraph version
Cordy never sits between you and your model. You bring your own provider key (or run a local model), and requests go directly from the app to the provider you chose — or, if you run one, through your own Cordy Gateway. There is no Cordy-operated cloud in the path, no account to create, and no telemetry. Swap models, self-host, export, or leave at any time.
