Settings & new-tab dashboard
Configure appearance, languages, context, models, tools, local AI, shortcuts, data controls, logs, and the optional new-tab page.
Open the dashboard from the side-panel header, then choose Settings. Changes are stored locally and shared by Cordy's extension surfaces.
General
- Appearance: choose System, Light, or Dark mode. Light presets are Classic Light, Warm Paper, and Catppuccin Latte; dark presets are Classic Dark, Ember, Catppuccin Mocha, Nord, and Dracula. Fonts are System, LXGW Neo XiHei, LXGW WenKai, and Frex Sans. Bundled fonts work offline.
- Language: choose the interface language and the target language used by translation actions.
- Conversation history: send 0, 5, 10, 20, or 50 prior messages; 20 is the default.
- Compaction: enable automatic context-budget compaction; optionally recap stale conversations after 1, 3, 7, or 14 days.
- Browser tools: the master switch is on by default. Turn it off to prevent chat from calling browser tools.
- Website access: grant or revoke the optional all-site permission used by the selection menu, in-page actions, page reading, and on-page command palette.
- Selection menu: enable or disable it independently. It cannot run until website access is granted.
The compact side-panel settings also expose appearance controls.
AI
Use Providers to search the provider directory, save keys, adjust Base URLs, test availability, and refresh catalogs. Use Feature Models to assign models to Chat, Translation, Explanation, Summarization, and TTS. See Providers & models.
Local AI
The master switch is off by default and requires acknowledgement of the experimental hardware and storage costs. The page includes hardware assessment, Chrome built-in AI, downloadable WebGPU models, local TTS, and local-native runtimes. See Local & on-device AI.
Shortcuts
The page shows Chrome-managed global commands and opens chrome://extensions/shortcuts for rebinding. It also selects the chat send key: Ctrl+Enter by default, or Enter with Shift+Enter for a newline.
Data
Review storage use, export or restore a JSON backup, withdraw cloud consent, and run full or selective cleanup. Automatic cleanup modes are Off, Notify, and Delete; Notify is the default. Cleanup preserves the bookmark library and Chrome bookmarks. API-key deletion is a separate checkbox/action.
Logs
Review, export, or clear sanitized local logs. They exclude messages, replies, and keys and are not uploaded automatically.
Optional new-tab page
If you use Cordy's new-tab surface, open its gear button to configure:
- wallpaper from eight gradients, ten solid colors, or up to 20 uploaded images;
- fixed, sequential, or random image rotation when multiple images exist;
- Google, Bing, Baidu, or DuckDuckGo search (Google is the default);
- visibility of the clock, greeting, search box, and quick links (all shown by default);
- up to seven manually managed quick links.
Wallpaper image blobs stay local and are excluded from Data Management backups.
